I participated in a knitted purse swap organized over at blogger... It was a fun swap and I was fortunate in getting a great partner! Now that my partner has received her package, I want to post my creation and its evolution here:
On the left is the purse and the right is a small card case in coordinating colors (really, they match even though the color on the photos does not look like they ought to) and of course, the scale is way different :) The purse was a modified Mason Dixon buttonhole bag - I made it longer and much taller and bigger at the base than the pattern called for. I know the things I make felt down quite a bit, so I wanted to make sure it was big enough since my partner did not want a "too small" bag. My partner was really awesome in the swap and sent me a big box of fun stuff! In the end, this is what came out of the washer after felting:
I like the way the bag turned out. I learned a few things about doing stripes too in the process. The purse used a charcoal grey, light grey, navy blue, light blue, medium denim blue wool, a couple different brands to get the colors I wanted. Although it is hard to see, there are beads on the card case and a sparkling button as a closure.
Also, part of my felting fun :)
I made this green felted bag and listed it on etsy. It sold almost immediately! That does not happen too often to me, so that made me feel very good!
